Hello, I am new to the forum and hope someone can help & advise me. Our HA are installing new kitchens shortly. My gas boiler is on the wall adjacent to my sink which has the bowl to the right and the drainer to the left. The space below the gas boiler is worktop and being in the corner, not usable. I have asked for the drainer of the new sink to be underneath the boiler but have been told that this is against regulations as the area must be kept clear. Because the are under the boiler is unusable worktop space, I have a mug tree and bread bin there. If it were the drainer of the sink, there would be NOTHING there, especially as I have a dishwasher. Can someone please advise me? Many thanks for your help in this matter. :?

HA = housing authority? Which one, some have their own install guidelines for maintenance reasons.

It Rutherglen & Cambuslang Housing Association. To be honest it was the kitchen fitter who stated this, the housing officer wasn't aware of the situation but the fitter said it was a 'regulation'. I think he just made it up.

It is not the housing officer job to know, i suggest you contact Rutherglen & Cambuslang Housing and state your concerns, i am not up on Scottish regs, maybe someone else can chime in here...

Load of old B*ollsticks luv, have your drainer beneath boiler if you want,no regs saying you can`t, (all gas fitters feverishly scrabblin thru regs now)
