My old Glow Worm Fuelsaver II was serviced recently and the next day I noticed that the pilot burner looked different. Previously, I could just see the flame, but now I can see the pilot burner as a silhouette, with the flame seemingly behind it.

I am concerned that it is either a health and safety issue or perhaps may not be as efficient as it ought, burning more gas to heat the water for example.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you.

First bit of advice is to take a photo that is in focus....

Looks absolutely fine to my eyes..

Pilot light do waste a tiny amount of gas having to be lit all the time, which is one reason why modern boilers don't use them.

Looks fine.

If your worried about efficiency then you have the wrong boiler, Pilot burner sits right infront of the sight glass so it should be visible, possibly it was not fitted correctly before.
