Are you talking about the volume of gas used or the cost of the gas used???
volume of gas, which also translates to cost.........is it soot in the chimney or exhaust of the gas burner....

checked for gas leak...no gas leak. also not the window or change of program........... ..but i have not checked for soot, can i do that?
Might HELP to know what boiler you're talking about......
