Hi,
We are thinking of changing our cooker, and are looking at gas cookers. The issue we have is that our gap at present is 50cm, but we have some pieces of wood we can remove to make the gap 60cm, but this will put a 60cm cooker within a few MM of the cupboard sides.

Basically, is there a minimum required gap between the side of cooker and the cupboards next to it?

Thanks in advance.

cooker oven walls are insulated, but you may need a slight gap to slide it in and out now and again. put steel strips on ends of worktops to stop burning whilst burning dinner.

Many cookers are about 595 and are designed to slide into a 600 wide slot.

Only the individual manufacturers instructions can inform you if any further gap is needed. generally no because little heat is available on the sides.

The most common problem is that people forget that it gets very hot above a flame and put cupboards too close. See the instructions!
