Gas Fire - Internal Wall?

Is it possibly to have a gas fire on an internal wall? I live in a 1960's built bungalow that has only central heating (and the old ducted hot air heating that the house originally had). All the internal walls are just plasterboard walls. There are no fire places or chimneys. In my lounge the only place a fire could go is on an internal wall which is 90 degrees to an outside wall. There is nothing in my loft-it is just used as a storage space. I however do not want to intrude too much into the loft just in case I convert it in years to come to bedrooms.

Ideally I would like a modern fire place with a square still flu stuck onto my wall. Could this then be ducted at an angle when it reached my loft out of the side of the house (the gable end).

This is not a job I am going to attempt myself but I just want to get an idea of what is possible.

The answer to your question is yes. I recently searched for a solution to just this type of problem and found several specialist companies that supplied/fitted ductwork that would alllow for almost any type of fire to be fitted in almost any area of a building. Sady I didn't keep any of the website addresses in my favourites folder, however they aren't difficult to find on the web.
