Gas Installer needed

Agile the skill is being able to do the bit without using fittings.
Also in being able to reconfigure a system that has been ballsed up in the past by people who dont know what they are doing.
Althought the vast amount of breakdowns are on actual appliances or controls what lets alot of breakdown guys down is not knowing how a system should work and how it should be piped in. And when it wont do as it should they think oh power flush will fix it

Personally I would be only too happy to see which bits of Danii melt when warmed up.

You're probably too old, although I'm not allowed to say that.

I'm tempted by Danni Minogue, but the same applies to me.

You can't have good and young so make your mind up

and in any case I'm not 65 till another 30 days

That would make it on the 16th November !

Lets try to remember that John's birthday is next month.

Hopefull he will finally retire after nearly half a century of heating !

i am with namsag on this, been to a few boilers where the service agent guys cannot figure out why the boiler overheats, not designed for gravity hot water in and out in 5 mins cash in pocket.my backround is installation so i may be biased but most service guys have a electrical backround who cannot handle running cables so trundle off for 5 days tick the boxes and become gas engineers.

Mellowing in my old age gremlin(wife sniggering over my shoulder)
Numpty dont get me started on service agents they are just the next stage up from a manufacturers help desk.
Think they are the bees knees . WOrk on one make of boiler and have van full off spares that basically they have tried over the years to actually find the fault as opposed to diagnosing it. Then try and sound like a smart ass .
When i am ready to stop working for a living i will do that as i really cant think of anything cushier for the money.

Sounds more like bg to me. I doubt you last long doing 9 jobs a day and 150 miles travelling working on 300 variants of several brands manufactured over a 30 year period and acheive a 98% first time fix. (it's not possible to carry every spare for every model the company make).[/b]. Most engineers don't last very long and i doubt they'd employ someone of your age or attitude.

Yawn yawn yawn. Manufactures job is for those who want any easy life or are of limited ability.
Are you saying Gloworm vailant have over 300 vairants of appliances.

glow worm, saunier duval, protherm, herman, vaillant, ikon, awb (heatline soon to be added). It is an easy job I agree if you are a decent engineer but some who come here struggle (typically ex installers and ex bg) and don't last long. The bonus scheme can be very rewarding ££££££

Ok Same as you asked big burner . name them. And if you think a feulsaver 30/40/50 or any other variants like this is 3 differnt appliances then get real .

I said variants so 30/40/50 would be 3. I can get a comprehensive list if you like but give me a little time. . . .

So basically you try to make the job sound a lot more involved than what it is . Fuelsavers, ultimates ,spacesavers, hidewaways etc etc of various outputs are the same boiler only with a smaller heatexchanger and slightly smaller burner. But work in exactly the same way using the same working parts . SAme as vailants
So how many are actual different appliances are there prob less than a hundred.
Proves my point manufacturersagents talk the job up to look clever

the reason I quoted variants was in regards to carrying ALL the parts on the van. *edited previous post in error, meant to quote now highlighted txt.*

I'd rather be an expert on 100 or so (your estimate not mine) appliances than be clueless on thousands like so many others are in the trade. (average bg engineer for example).

Another point is that you seem to forget is that for example a gw ultimate 30 shares little with the 120 other than the pilot and gas valve. A swiftflow 120e is very different to a swiftflow 75p etc etc etc
