Hi all,

Currently our gas metre sits on the side of our detached house and on our land, and is accessible to whoever does the readings as it is not fenced off and is currently part of our "front garden" but sits next to a fence dividing our front from our rear garden.

We want to extend our rear garden for storage reasons and the gas metre would then be fenced around becoming part of our rear garden. Furthermore I would like to build a pent shed where the gas metre sits incorporating the metre into the shed. Access would still be available and the metre would still be able to be read either by ourselves or by a metre reader but who would have to gain access when we are there.

Is this ok to do without notifying anyone or do I need to notify anyone and seek permission to do this?

Thanks in advance

Paul

Perfectly ok . they must however be allowed access once every 2 years to read it so that is only time you will have to be there .
