I am getting internal wall insulation added to a house.

Currently the pipes feeding the rads upstairs plus the gas feed run up the wall by the front door in boxing.

I have removed all this boxing for when the fitters come to fit the insulation.

They said the rad on the wall will be brought forward. However I am checking to see if they must not leave the gas where it is and possibly cover it up. I assume this must also be rerouted and brought forward and in effect houses in a new box.

These companies are well know to cut corners.

It's fine but should have battens either side so it isn't just an open void. It might be better boxed in on the new surface for future alterations/maintenance.
