Given current security situation...

Any tips for shortish stay couple of hours or so? Time, not cost being the prime factor.
I couldn't spot multi storey car parks on the airport guide.. would that be the three 'big drums' adjacent to South terminal? (From GEarth.)

I suppose once commited from the M23 spur - We shall be locked into the traffic and circuit.
:(

Short stay car park and the shuttle bus to the terminal.

That service should still in operation

Or use the long term car park if short term is closed / full but make sure the shuttle driver on the return knows you need to get to the area you parked in as sometimes they do not go the area that is being filled because they do not expect people to be going back on the same day.

Train? £108 with two changes and most convienient departure which should be 'just in time' would probably be just too late.... from here.

250 mile round trip £20 fuel in the oil burner... thinking £20 for a coupla hrs parking...

Need a feel for the traffic really.. M25 to M23 say 07:00.. anyone??

what part of United States Minor Outlying Islands are you travelling from?

BG Can we not walk from South short term multi storey to South terminal? Or should I look for surface short term?

Chippenham'ish ...

Probably do cross country to M3 - M25ccw - M23.

Hmm 2 pile-ups on M25 this am...

Go via the 'back road' from Reigate Junction 8 M25 then down into Reigate and along A217 which brings you to the longer term car parks, but also crutially into the back of Gatwick.

Just follow the signs when you get to Hookwood

:)

gatwicks no problems A23 and horley easily accsessable once you leave the motorway at the airport turn off

you have as you say the long term parking the short term parking

are you dropping people off or picking them up!!!

http://www.gatwickairport.com/

if your picking people up drive on to horley its only 10 mins away by car [2mins by train] await the phone call then pick them up but make shure they are at the pickup point and DO NOT leave your vehicle at the pickup area
if your more than 2 mins early you will have to drive round the block

ooo and if you park at the drive in macdonalds [2 mins away]youve got around 25-30 mins before you incurr the £50 overstay charge and i believe you must buy a meal to park but could be wrong

Is that 'London way' the A217 joining M23 spur 'Airport way' pix top?

Likely there'll be less traffic to the roundabout Junc 9a?

I'm guessing multi story parking at my tag 'GAtwick short etc...' yellow pin just above pix centre...
Cheers.

BTW That plane at 4 o'clock.. hasn't moved far in the last hour or so. :D

Someone should educate the locals in the Bristol airport locale - art of .. farming cars !
:D :D

the road that road that runs parralel to the railway line that runs under the airport is the A23 that connects with airport way then 1/2 a mile later to the A 217 1 mile north on the map

the perimiter road is also directly to the left of the A23 but doesnt connect except farther south and just off the top of the picture

Al' Am delivering to airport for a month of peace :D , accompanied by an upside down wallet³ :(³³ !

Just looked at Horley station .. biggish car park - I guess if traffic abysmal could park there and train it in ! Mind you, 2 mins on the train gotta be expensive...

I know the airport authorities keep asking for more and more space but have things got so bad that they now have to park aircraft in the middle of fields like that one on the right?

Al, is there usually lots of room in Horley station car park say 07:30 ?

I am beginning to think there are more options by taking this route, rather than becoming locked into the mo-way with no alternatives.

If ..... £2 train x 5 = £10 + £5 park = £15 total .. A bargain !
I shall investigate further.
