GE Extra Mini 11W Low Energy & Time Switches?

I have just bought a couple of low energy bulbs. On the GE box, it states that they are not for use with use with dusk till dawn and time switches.
Does anyone know of a technical reason for this?
I looked on the net, but could not find anything..

yes they dont work.

if its a strait forward on / off time switch* they will be fine, but dusk to dawn sensors usualy make them lamps flicker

* as in one with contacts, not an electronic one or one of those replacemt swithces that is also a timer
