Can anyone tell me how to get old coloured hallway victorian tiles to look their best. When they have been mopped the colours look darker and much better. Can you buy anything that will give this effect?

Try using a proprietary tile sealer!

Get a product called Klear (it's made by Johnson Wax) from you local supermarket. Clean & dry the floor, spread the liquid onto the floor with a damp cloth, wait 20 minutes then give a second coat. It'll leave the tiles with a great shine. The effect last quite a long time and you can do about 12 applications before it needs to be stripped-off (easy to do) and started again. I've been using it for years! Also great for quarry tiles.
