Evening all,

We have a new ( 1 year old ) oak floor, coffee coloured. I do like it but today I mopped it and it looked awesome when it was wet, kinda glossy , as its matt when its dry.

Is there any kind of sealant/stain/wax that will keep that look? and is it fairly easy to put on the floor?

Cheers!

What sort of finish do you have on the floor at the moment. Oil or lacquer?
If it's lacquer there are high gloss polishes around that you can burnish to a high gloss, but it will take work to keep it looking good.

To make this work you would also need a buffing machine unless you fancy spending hours on your hands and knees.

Mmm not sure what kind of finish I have, just bought it this way, how would I know?
