Hello.. Planning on a tile change in my bathroom next week and just wondered what is the best way of taking the tiles off the wall without damaging the wall?

Im guessing hammering the tiles are not the best option

Anyways thanks for the help :)

I use an old 1" chisel - it's easier to get behind the tiles than using a bolster and causes less damage. Bolster (or chisel bit in an sds drill which is much easier) is for more stubborn tiles in my book. Of course this is only for wall tiles.

The others have got it but you will almost certainly suffer some holes in the finish plaster, if not down to the blocks! If you’re re-tiling, don’t worry too much, just rough fill the holes beforehand; this is also good as prep for a plaster skim.
