My idea is to have filtered rainwater, pumped from a ground level tank up (8 meters) to the cold water tank in the loft. With the idea of having a raised float system to top the tank up before the mains water float kicks in. Ensuring the inlet for the mains water is above the water line as per regulations. From what I am aware, there should just be an air gap between the mains water and any other water type.
Ideally the pump would be working primarily in the evening for short periods in a tiny house so making it compatible to run from a battery (solar charged) would be ideal.
Can someone suggest a suitable pump for the job that is cost efficient. Should it be Centrifugal, diaphragm or something else?

Cheers
