Getting wires out of a cat5 connector

hi, probably a dumb question but..
I’m doing a bit of decorating and I need to temporily take the phone socket off the wall and obviously disconnect the phone wires.

I can see from videos how you push the small wires into the connector block( the push down tool) to make the connection , but do I get the wires out of a cat 5 style connector?

A krone tool has a hook which pulls out the handle, which is specifically for pulling wires out of the IDC slots...

When you come to put them back in, make sure you punch them down on a 'fresh' part of the wire. I.E. so that the old used/damaged bit gets chopped off.
