Hi everyone, just looking for some advice, not sure if this in the right section so please move if required.

My partner has a pair of Platinum GHD straighteners, they work fine but from time to time they switch themselves off. There doesn't seem to be a pattern such as how long they stay on for, this is totally random.

First question is can these be repaired as I'm aware some people allege that some models cannot be repaired. If they can be repaired can anyone advise how please.

Thanks in advance.

How old are they? It looks like the platinum range have a 3 year warranty.

Unfortunately searching suggests that they cannot be repaired as everything is on a single flexy pcb inside.

Try going to https://www.ghdhair.com/help/returns and entering the code off the cable tag to check for the warranty.

I have repaired older models, new leads, new elements etc. not the newer models though.
There is a reset process for these, unplug for a couple of minutes then plug back in again.

You could also try this place: https://www.ghdrepairsandspares.co.uk/ghd-s8t261-repair/ might be costly though.

Thanks for that, I checked and your right, thet are out if warranty unfortunately. I'll need to weigh up if they are worth paying £50ish to get them repaired.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, appreciate it.
