Glass thickness

Hi
I live on a busy main road and would like new UPVC windows fitted, could someone tell me what would be the best type to help with noise reduction.
I was told having thicker Glass would help if so what is the best thickness to have. Any other pointers would be appreciated. many thanks

Acoustic glass is what you need - its expensive but effective.
