gledhill 2000 thermal store - potterton 40L boiler

I bought my house in June 2008, it was newly built in 2004.
It has a potterton 40L boiler and a gledhill boiler mate 2000 thermal store installed.
We where told by the previous owners, for best heating/hotwater results, set the potterton boiler temperature dial switch always to maximum.
Also the thermal store unit must be permanatly switched on, or used by the preset timer switch dial on the front of the unit.
The house temperature thermostat dial (which is located in another room)
to be always set to 20 to 22 degrees.

The problem is that the potterton boiler has a built in overheat limit thermostat.
Once the overheat limit is reached, the boiler 'locksout' and a red l.e.d light starts to flash.
To re-ignite the boiler back to its normal working state,this has to be done manually, by the reset button.
I have had the boiler serviced, and there was no faults or repairs.
It was in good and working order.

The problem is that when the boiler 'locksout' there is no hot water or heating available, as the boiler switches its self off.
Has anyone else experienced this problem.
Is it the potterton boiler or the gledhill thermal store unit causing this problem?

Is the boiler a Potterton Suprema 40?.. Could be other issues with this boiler...

Gledhil say that the boiler must be set to maximum as the central heating doesn't work with a water temperature below 60c

No i am currently residing at Birkenhead, on the Wirral Pennisular.
My boiler is a potterton suprima 40 L model.
The temperature setting is always left on maximum.
The boiler still locks out and needs resetting manually.
I have read other comments on this forum, to similar lock out problems.
One possible cause is that the lockout is tripped by a faulty pcb board.
Just priced them on ebay at a cost of £95.00
plus £7.50 post and package.

How long does the warranty last on the potterton boilers.
Mine is only four years old.

Anyway I digress...........

If I purchased one are these pcb boards are they easy to wire up.
