I have decking in my back garden. I also have it going up the walls. I was wanting to paint the walls with white gloss paint and stain the floor where we walk for safety reasons. Is it possible to use white gloss paint on decking or not (note it will be for appearance only and obviously not walked on)

Unless you can paint and seal all sides of the decking moisture will almost certainly get into the timber and the paint will flake. Even if you can seal it I suspect the life of the paint will be short and you will be in a constant cycle of maintainance
