hi all new member her, i have the above boiler, 2 years old. Been fine but went to have a shower today and noticed water was not very warm. set the water temp higher and i get warm water but not hot water.

heating seems okay, any ideas? was think hw thermistor or three way valve

all help appreciated

could be partialy blocked d.h.w heat/exch, low gas rate if 3 way valve faulty or turn heating off let it cool down . turn d.h.w on locate heating flow pipe see if this gets hot if so divertor letting bye. could also be flow sensor sticking.possibly dhw thermistor but i think this will flash up fault code

thanks for the tips, the boiler shold store hotwater, does the fact it is not storing any give you any other ideas?

thanks

the stored water is still heated through the dhw heat/exch if its blocked it will not heat up store it also has bronze pump on water side is that working

thanks again gas geezer, might some professional help, can you or anybody recomend a glow warm engineer in oxford?

thanks

kenny

well this is strange, we have a biggish house and the water at some taps is very hot and in other and also one of the showers lukewarm

getting very confused with this, have checked three way valves ok, thermistors ok, for all intent purpose boilers seems to work okay, other than water at some taps showers is lukewarm

ideas?

thanks

kenny

not likely to be a boiler fault if some taps ok. and some taps/shower not working boiler cannot pick and choose which taps to supply, more likely system fault

To be consistent you have to measure at the same flow rate.

Choose a plastic jug and set taps to fill it at the same rate from each tap and then see what the temperature is when it has stabilised.

Sounds as if the secondary heat exchanger may be scaled or partly blocked?

Doesn't this suggest a failing diaphragm? A small leak developing in diaphragm will cause reduced movement of spindle on low flows but full movement on higher flows. I don't know this boiler, so this is just an idea to check out.

no diaphram on this model it has a flow sensor, bronze pump for d.h.w and a divertor valve possibly this is letting bye, or the by-pass is ..Check by turning c/h off and feel the c/h flow, when hot water is on if it heats up either of them letting bye. have you checked out previous popssibility

hi all BG engineer cam and checked the boiler all okay, he was baffled watering exiting was consistent 58deg c, he suggested cold water was being drawn in frome somehwere.

And..........................bingo it was the mixer shower letting cold by, isolated all problems now gone yipee

thanks for all your help and comments

cheers
