Glow worm 24Ci re-filling

I have replaced a rad in my girlfriends house followed the rules as follows
1 drained the system
2, replaced rad
3, re-filled the system: at this point I was expecting to hear the water flow once I opened the filling valve below the boiler, but there was silence.
Am I forgetting to do something? do I need to open all bleed valves to allow water flow?
Can somebody help and save my diy points with my girlfriend and give her hot water again?????

Is water actually passing into the system? Take the filling loop off and open up the valve... SLOWLY.

blue valve under the boiler? it will be broken.

broken filling valve. buy the whole kit as the disconnector will fail at some point aswell.

And get some quality inhibitor in the system. Any corrosion and the boiler vessel hose easily blocks...no easy job to replace.
