Glow worm Boiler

Hi guys well I am a newly qualified gas safe guy and in need of help a friend has a glowworm betacom c24 the heating works fine but when hot water is run for a shower the gas comes on and heats the water for about 1 min then the gas goes off the water runs cold then it re lights. I am no expert or pretend to be and had it been anyone else I would suggest an experienced breakdown guy but he is skint and a friend in need

Any suggestions ?

not quite sure why the question cant be answered as its not gas related, it sounds like the plate heat exchager is blocked.
