Glow Worm Economy Plus Boiler Problem!

Hi All,

Ive just moved into a house with the above boiler, all was well until today no hot water. The pilot light is out. I have turned the timer switch to always on in the airing cupboard and when i turn the knob on the boiler from 0. to max it sounds like it kicks into life...I hear a fan type sound, but whereas before I heard a ticking as it sparked trying to light the pilot, now nothing happens, just a fan sound and it never lights...any ideas ? (feel free to assume i know nothing about boilers when answering !!)

Sounds like a quite common fault, but as it involves gas safety devices I'm sorry but you will need to call in a RGI to look at it.

A good service may sort it.
