Hi guys,

First post, so sorry if I miss anything pertinent - also, not the handiest in and of myself, so please be gentle :)

Been in this house about 18 months, has the above boiler. This evening it has started giving off a gas/burning smell - definitely smells "hot" - and the pilot light won't come on when I try to draw hot water. I'm getting hot water through but it appears to be just what's stored in the hot water tank. When I try to draw water, the boiler casing itself feels warm, not sure if this is unusual, particularly since the light isn't firing.

Sale is agreed on the house so am hoping I can get away without having to replace it or lay out any great amount of money myself - I'll let the developer do that if I can, but depends how urgent it is.

Any advice you can give is wonderful!

Nathan

Gas/burning smell should tell you to shut the boiler down and for safety get it seen to by a specialist. These boilers have a positive pressure case and are not for diyers.
