hi guys, need some info regarding my boiler. its an old conventional system with a hot water tank hidden behind a false wall. we're taking down the false wall so we need to get rid of the tank. We're getiing a combi boiler. I have been reliably informed that the fitting on my old system won't be able to cope with the higher pressure from a combi. Is this the case? :?:

Not sure what you mean by fitting, however we have just had a new combi fitted on a system which used to supplied by a Spacesaver. You can put a new boiler on old pipework and rads but you must have it powerflushed first and it is good practice to instal a "Magnaclean" device in the pipework. This picks up any iron-oxide sludge, which can be death to a combi.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness

I think the rad valves can sometimes leak - ours didn't. Replacing the odd valve is a lot cheaper than new pipework. I suppose it depends on the condition of your system and how much you want to spend.
