My boiler is at least 10 years old and I have never had a problem with it. Two day sago I bled a radiator (one that needs doing most winters - so no change there), and topped the water up in the boiler (it was just under 1 bar and it usually runs at 1.5 bar). Ever since there has been this problem:

When the heating is switched off, it drops to 0 bar. When on, it shoots up to 3.5-4 bar (4 bar is the maximum on my boiler). It's never done this before.

When I bled the radiator there was a lot of air in it, and quite a lot of water came out with the air. However, the water in the boiler was topped up to 1.5 bar, which I thought would sort it out. I daren't leave the heating on timer in case it goes up to /past 4 bar, and when I'm in, I can't relax as I keep having to check the pressure level.

By the way, there are no leaks.

Any advice would be more than welcome. Thank you.
