I had a power cut the other day and now my boiler won't relight. I've tried following the instructions on how to get the pilot to fire up but it won't have it. Any suggestions?

A mains power cut should not have affected the pilot light!

You need to give a detailed explanation of what happens when you try to relight it if you want us to suggest the possible fault.

Otherwise you need a competent CORGI>

Look for an overheat-reset button, though I don't think it has one.

Pilot goes out because:
Mains off> fan off> pilot overheats heat exchanger> overheat button pops out>pilot goes off.

Fan at low speed Tony

The pilot on these things can be a pig to relight.

Try lighting it with the power turned off.

If that does not work then the only way is to take the cover off and light with a match. (if you are competent that is  )

Tip: DO NOT keep holding the grey button down and pressing the igniter for a long period..it WILL go with a BANG if it suddenly sparks

The fault will almost certainly be that the spark electrode is too close to the combustion case and it is arcing causing the spark to be in the wrong place.
