Hi chaps
Above boiler, think it's a "100", can't recall, it was fitted 15 years ago.

Recent,(today) issue is that the ch works fine but the hw from the boiler is fubarred, ie too low pressure to actuate the boiler.

Bathroom and outside pressure is perfect so must be an internal boiler issue???

Any common issues with this unit or is it time to call time and consider new??

If this is the case what is the recomendation, considering we have "employee rates" at Glow worm.

Is the flow rate on the hw slow or just that the boiler isnt kicking in?

Flow switches are a common fail point on a swiftflow. RGI required to replace due to its location. I tend to remove the burner for better access.

If it is a flow rate problem through the boiler, regardless of the boiler firing, it will either be a blocked inlet filter or a scaled heat exchanger. If the flow is above 2 l/min and the boiler is not firing it will be a flowswitch problem - easily checked. Does the pump stop running when CH is on and HW is called for?

'Employee rates' do you work for Group Service? if yes, get a Betacom A 28kw on staff purchase. It's a lot of boiler for the money. Or upgrade to the Ultracom2 with the Climapro2 (when they are available again). Speak to Dave in training he will help iI'm sure.

BTW Staff purchasse prices on Vaillant aren't worth it - you'll get it cheaper at a merchant!

Sorry for the delay, have been fixing the problem, it was the inlet filter.
The boiler was firing on and off at a very low rate, as when tou have'nt opened the HW tap enough.

Anyway it lives on, must admit it has been fault free for that time.

The conection with Gloworm ir whatever they are called is simply a friend who worked in design there. He left years ago but still gets a cracking rate on boilers, we have had 3 or 4 for family & friends including the swiftflow.

Anyway, cheers for the advice ;) ;)
