I've noticed a leak from my boiler this last couple of weeks (since the weather turned cooler and the heating has therefore been running much more.
The water appears to be coming from the fitting where the pipe from the PRV exits underneath the boiler.
This looks like a 15mm copper pipe with a brass fitting where it enters the boiler. I can't tell whether the water is leaking from between the pipe and the fitting, or from the outside of the fitting but the water is definitely coming from here.
Is it normal that the PRV would be emitting water in normal operation anyway, or does this suggest there is a more significant problem which needs looking at?
If it is just the PRV or fitting itself, is this likely to be expensive to repair or replace? I see that Glow-worm offer a fixed price repair service however this would only be worthwhile if it's likely to be an expensive repair - if it's something relatively cheap I would prefer to approach a local gas engineer.
