Our GLOW-WORM SAVER F boiler makes a whislting noise like that
of a kettle when set to a high setting (above 3).
The noise has steadily been getting bad over the last
year. I have set it to 2.5 and the noise is now bearable. It whisltes just
before it turns off. I understand that the scalling in the boiler is causing
gas to be made which causes the whistling.
Some one told me that adding Fernox would solve the problem.
1. Would adding Fernox in it solve the problem?
2. Or would I need to buy a new boiler?
3. Would the Fernox later need to be flushed out or can it be left inside for
good. If left inside could the scale removed block the radiators?
4. I have heard that an inhibitor should be added. Is Fernox also a inhibitor?
or are these two different types of Fernox products?
Hope some one can help.
