oil in bearings attracts dirt and grit..

tbh once a fan is on its way out it should just be replaced or repaired by a workshop, you may be able to coax it on for 5 minutes but its gonna go sooner or later.

Ok. Cheers. I won't bother with that then.

If I'm replacing the fan, am I right in thinking it is ok to do that myself? Or am I in the realms of 'gas safe only' for that?
