Gloworm with a mind of its own

I have a gloworm F range and at the moment it seems to ignore both the timer controls and the room thermostat. When it is timed to go off it continues to fire the boiler and if left on it appears to get hotter and hotter.
Could someone please give a little advice as to where to look
