Glowworm Economy PLus 30B Heating not working.

WE have a Glow worm boiler Economy Plus 30B. Hot water is working but central heating is not working. It has a Drayton Mid Position Actuator. It is stuck in Hot water position. It does not move to Central Heating Position.

Bathroom Fitter was fitting Towel radiator. He did something in the boiler room. Since then it is showing this problem.

Please give some help and advice.

You should check with the bathroom fitter first but motorised valves do fail and its probably coincidence. May have failed some time ago and you haven't noticed because the heating's been off for the summer. Replacing the accuator head on the drayton is simple enough (unless its an older one).

First thing to check though is whether its just seized. The head can be removed by pressing a black clip. You should be able to move the spindle with a pair of pliers (only moves about a quarter turn or thereabouts. If its stiff, wiggling back and forward can free it up so its works for a while. Drayton valves seem prone to sticking so if your having to replace, a Honeywell would be a better bet.
