Glowworm Micron 40ff problem

Works fine for the hot water all the time.

However, the central heating, it only works 8 out of 10 times, sometimes you turn it on and nothing happens, however when this occurs if you turn the hot water on the radiators heat up fine, but turn the hot water off and the heating stops.

other times the heating works first time by itself,

very strange, any ideas?

yep..... switched live in motorised valve a bit dodgy or not opening at all on occasion

thanks guys, did a bit of searching and seem that what it is.

Any ideas on a roguh cost to get to fixed (will probably need replaced?)

Just the actuator around £100-£120 + VAT, whole valve around £180-£200 + VAT

Theres a product re-call on Micron 40ff [also 50ff 60ff 70ff 80ff 100ff & 120ff] manufactured between 25th October 2006 and 2nd May 2007

The problem is something to do with a gas manifold that can leak after installation but doesn't show up in their testing procedure.
