I have a 1970`s Wimpey built semi detached house with dormer bedroom windows front and back. The dormer runs the full length of both houses (mine and next door).

Even though the felt is relatively new, about 6/7 years, I am thinking about going down the fibreglass route as a more permanent solution.

Now the ideal solution would be to have both houses done together, but my neighbours can`t afford to do it at the moment - having both kids away at uni has hit their funds! My question is, can I go on and have mine done without it affecting their house in any way? If so I will carry on and do mine because I don`t trust felt, even though it has never failed or caused me a problem I still don`t trust it!

My garage also needs the same, but is attached to my other neighbours` garage, who is 85, very frail, and I don`t want to bother her with such things.

Many thanks for any advice

Felt and fibreglass have the same life expectancy. If it ain't broke - don't fix it.
