I have 2 golf trolley batteries & 2 chargers.
1 battery will not turn the charger to green, I know it cant be a fault with the charger as using the other battery its ok.
I am thinking there is an internal fault with the battery can this happen. (The battery is less than 1 year old, but has had about 100 charges, should do 300)

sounds like an internal fault with the battery, ive got a few old 1s and some of them did the same, had them tested and the guy said some of the cells and shot.

did you leave the batteries out in the shed, over the cold winter we had?

i did and i had the same problem

Batteries are charged in doors.
It was ok last week, so maybe its just a cell gone..Ebay here I come.

Likely a cell down. This is how a traction battery charger works.
1) It charges flat out until the voltage raises to 14.8v approx.
2) It holds the voltage at 14.8v while monitoring the current once the current drops to a pre-set level it switches to next stage.
3) The voltage is allowed to drop to 13.2v then held at that voltage and the charge completed lamp will light.

So three stages
Constent current
Constent voltage 1
Constent voltage 2

Now if the current set to drop into last stage is slightly higher in one charger to the other then one may find one charger will show charged where the other will no as a battery starts to go faulty.

I checked the voltage on the battery its 0.6v lower than a good battery.
I will use it today, but take a spare.
