Compression nut sizes, from memory, are
32mm for 22mm pipe
38mm for 28mm
44-5 for 35mm
and so on in quarter inch steps, ie the metric nearest.
Std pump nuts are 2 1/16", = about 54mm.
They vary a bit of course.
Sure adjustables are ok but they'll often go on a nut once, but then won't turn enough because they're so fat. I've accumulated "angle wrenches" which are open-enders withe same size both ends at different angles, for the comp nuts up to 2" copper. They're a bit dear new but s/h even rusty ones are fine.
24" "water pump" style grips are great but were hard to get in this country when I got mine, s/h from the US.
