Went to the Tool Station on Saturday to buy a security torque set. Got them back home and Andy said they where ****! they will just brake. Took them back and went to Machine Mart. Again **** tools! (and they employ stupid little pieces of **** in these shop, and the guy who runs it, is a crook as well)

Any ideas where I can get a T25 to fit my drill please? BTW there are the special security ones with the bit in the middle

Thanks

Over the years, I have purchased sets of long security Torx bits from Amazon. On average about £7.

To be honest, I normally only use them to remove security screws from plastic cases for power tools.

If you want quality ones, look at the likes of Wera

But a set of small bits will cost about £25.

The above company sells an individual short bit though

Edit- I guess you are not using an impact driver.

Discuss with Andy how your putting them in your drill and whizzing them round at 3000RPM.
That will easily ruin any good bit.

I have used a Haaken set from Amazon at work for several years, still going strong.

They seam to be a bit of a rip off this company!

Total (Ex. VAT) £7.91
VAT £1.58
Total (Inc. VAT) £9.49
Subtotal £1.96
Shipping & Handling (Standard - UK Mainland) £5.95

However; doing a google search of this product I found Tool Station sell it or do they? As it is not listed as a security torx

The Toolstation one isn't even stocked anymore and isn't a security one anyway.

If you want to buy a single security bit online you will pay a premium either in the cost of the item or for delivery. Or god forbid you phone up a local tool shop who will probably be able to get one if they don't stock them. But I doubt it will be £2.

I have never used the company. I was simply trying to provide a link to the product.

In no way am I endorsing them. Sorry, I should have made that clear.

When I click on the link for the single bit, it says £1.96 - granted they don't make it clear that the price is ex VAT but having had a quick look, delivery is £5.95 (probably ex VAT as well). So the price is product plus delivery plus VAT. If you order £50 of products (ex VAT) you will get free delivery and the bit for the ex VAT price listed on the page.

Personally, I think that they should display the prices with and without VAT given that they are willing to sell to the public... but, with respect, I don't think they are rip off merchants. A quick look at some of the prices for other products that they sell seem to be reasonable.

The only other place I can find the product is eBay and with delivery the final price is exactly the same.
