Good riddance tobacco!

PS,, I've not yet (and hopefully won't) turned into the hypocrites, many ex smokers seem to become.

Ex smokers are your best allies, we know how hard it is. And you are only being grumpy cos you haven't had a fag in a couple of weeks, we know that once you are one of us you will become just the same obnoxious gits that we are.

Well done and keep it up.

Chapeau, I sincerely hope and pray , that I will not become one of these "born again", non smokers who preach constantly about the dangers of smoking (unlike my dad who became one , almost overnight)
I cannot condemn anything that's quite legal in this country. (unless it's related to the European Human Rights legislation, which I'm sooooooooooo totally against)

That sounds like a quote from the film 'Invasion of the bodysnatchers'.

Have a fag John for f*cksake, time is running out.

Don't be taken alive.

I see "Sylvia Krystel, aged 60, heavy smoker since age 11" is now an ex-smoker.

i have now been cig free for around 20 weeks :)

but i went down the e cigarette way.1 of these,
http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/odyssey-products.html

ok i havnt gone cold turkey as of yet,i started on 18mg of nicotine and as of beginning of this week had weaned myself down to zero rated,so now i have to wean myself off of the e cig,but i will get there.
i can now go hours between puffs on it so my mind set is getting there.

we all have our methods of trying to quit, and ive tried various ways over the years, even using ziaban approx 10 years ago and other things since,
BUT this time is defo the longest so far.

to those who have stopped WELL DONE  ,TO THOSE WHO WANT TO STOP find a way of doing it,AND good luck.

You can have all the artificial aids you like but its down to will power,I gave up 30 odd years ago the first twenty five years were the worst. :D

With respect, I'm not entirely convinced that that's perticularly helpful for someone in the initial stages of withdrawal from a drug addiction :?

It is a short lived feeling, followed by the occasional pang "for old times sake", which soon become fewer and further apart until they are negligible.

Good luck with it gregers and joinerjohn. Trust me, you're well over the worse now :) Absence will make the heart forget!!!!

I stopped smoking baccy mid may this year i have the usual joint with no bacca.
My other half started a e cig two weeks ago and she loves it

£42 for cigs for her down to £3-£6 a week for the cig capsules.

And we agreed not to pay for a takeaway tonight, (nother tenner saved)

Must admit, I went out to the car earlier tonight (to go to the local shops) and the bloody thing would not start (think the starter is knacked) Got back in the house looking for the Haynes manual and couldn't find it.   Almost had me reaching for the tobacco tin (if I could only remember where I left it now)

Nah seriously though, I do find very stressful situations a bit harder to handle at the moment. The car not starting being a typical example. I'm finding myself quite short tempered at the moment (but assume/hope this will pass) And don't even ask me about the road rage (when the car bloody decides to work)

They have to want to give up and will power will do it.

Aye. It was the reference to it being hard for 25 years that I was referring to. During the first few days it is blooming hard not to throw the towel in, and to be told that this feeling will go on for several decades ain't exactly the best thing to hear IMO. It's easy to forget that for the first week, one is still addled with the drug addiction which befuddles brain power and resolve :)
