Good Translucent Silicone?

Is a Translucent Silicone the best thing to put between laminate floor and skirting?
Are there any brands people would recommend for this? Does not need to be mould resistant, not in a bathroom.

Should not be a significant gap , skirting should sit on top .

But, if there was a gap? I thought am expansion gap was needed ... floors aren't totally level either, so sometimes a gap at one end but not the other!

I would seal any gaps between wall and floorboards with cheap caulk before starting the laminate. Silicone where skirting meets laminate will not survive the expansion and contraction of the laminate.
