Hi, I want to install Google Nest Thermostat E.
I got confused what are the cables for on my thermostat. I watched all youtube tutorials, looked at all instructions but still I am not sure.

Can anyone help?

Not sure why you call it a 'Google' Nest-e? Assume that you mean one of these? If so...

...You don't need the neutral wire for Nest-e, so isolate and insulate it away from everything else and tuck it out of the way, also isolate and insulate the earth wire.

The wire in L goes to Nest-e C (Common)

The wire in 3 goes to Nest-e NO (Normally Open)

Hi, yes its the Nest like on your photo.

Just to confirm:

insulate wire N and 2.

connect wire L to C and 3 to NO.

I am so grateful for your help :)

There isn't a wire in 2!!

The Wires that are in N and Earth (top left corner) should both be isolated separately. Nest-e doesn't need these connections. I would put them in separate screw terminals, there's enough room behind the drop down door to hold them.

connect wire L to C and 3 to NO.

Yes.

Yes.
I honestly wish I had your patience @stem there is such a thing now as a Google nest E, is exactly the same as anyother nest e, same with Amazon, they are all jumping on the bandwagon and pretending it has something to do with them,

Hey,
I have gave up again.

Thermostat does not switch on/off heating.

The unit reads like everything is ok. But when i put it heating ON it clicks but heating doesnt come on.

I tried to set the heating to ON on boiler. All combinations. But none worked.
Could you please advise ?

It appears that you have a timeswitch on the boiler. Is it set to be permanently 'on' 24/7? if not, it will interfere with the Nest.

Yes I have programer. But if I switch it ON the google nest doesnt switch it off

I have assumed that the original thermostat was installed and wired correctly. Did it turn the heating on / off? Is there a possibility that the wiring has been changed at sometime and the original thermostat was disconnected? The wires in the terminals L and 3 below, should now instead go to the Nest-e terminals as shown, and the Earth and N wires isolated safely.

I also assume that the old thermostat has been removed and isn't still connected.

It's very difficult to get this wrong. There are only two wires to connect, and whilst convention dictates they are connected to C and NO as shown above, Nest-e would still work if you had them transposed.

What happens if you press the button in the centre of the Nest-e? does it control the heating then?

hi, thank you for your replies. I do think that Stem is right about the probability of the previous thermostat not working properly.
I didn't use it and don't remember if anything was wrong. I just used a programmer in the boiler all the time.

I checked the cables, all ok, and I set the heating on the Boiler to be permanently ON. And it still doesn't react to nest.
When I switch it on the wall unit, all seems ok, I hear the click in nest, but boiler doesn't react.

I will connect the old thermostat and see if it works and if not then I will have to get the fault repaired.

many thanks for pointing it out to me
