Is there still value in adding in gravel boards when fitting 6ft panels? I've used them with 4ft featheredge fencing in the past. I would appreciate your advice on this.
Gravel boards keep the timber fence panels off the soil, and therefore any rot is reduced.
They also serve to stop rodents etc, burrowing through the bottom of the fence.
Obviously gravel boards do not stop rodents burrowing under the fence.
How do you advise on handling the slight slope I have in the garden level?
Should I be starting at the higher end and getting the gravel boards onto the ground and the using a spirit level to follow this level for the other panels? I do have some surplus in my posts as I have gone for 9ft posts.
