Hi there - first post but any help greatly appreciated

Had gravity system replaced with pressure system. When job finished plumber pointed out the shower is dripping. (Aqualisa Aquastream - drips from under the unit itself)

Plumber came back to stop it but unable to do so. Tried to isolate cold but it is the hot that is dripping I believe

Is there anything I can do to stop this thing dripping?

Is this one of the round-bodied units? You can buy a new cartridge from Aqualisa that is pretty easy to swap.

Your old one probably has a colour coded identifying ring, if you call Aqualisa they can tell you which type you need for high pressure.

I suppose you mean you have a combi boiler now? Or a white cylinder?

Yes round white body like a tear drop.

We now have a pressurised tank replacing the old gravity system.

Re the shower we'll replace the bathroom in a few months but need to get the shower to stop dripping (ie shut it down completely). Pretty sure its building up mould cause of the constant drip.

I think not.

On investigation, I think yours is a self-contained electric pump mixer, and does not have the cartridge I was thinking of.

More likely a worn out seal.

They are a very good unit and can be overhauled, but if you now have a pressurised cylinder, you don't need it so the expense is not worthwhile.

Choose your favoured thermostatic mixer for the new bathroom, and consider having it installed early.

The Aqualisa round mixer is extremely good.

Or you could just have a couple of isolating valves with hand-operared levers, and turn it off when not in use.

This full-bore type is as good as you can get (cheaper ones are narrow and obstruct water flow).
