Don't get me started on Lego - I had to shell out a tenner this week on a Lego Bionicle for my son (kind of like a character version of the old Lego Technical sets) and the bits are all so specific that it is impossible to build anything else from it. Would've been better off buying a big transformer......

They've been doing that for years, pretty much every new model has a new piece. Means you can't build it out of the bl**dy great boxes of lego you have already. Every few months I will find myself looking at Lego and being tempted, other than the fact it is really quite expensive! Great toy though (and educational), when I have children they will be brought up on the stuff.

Does anyone remember the massive "Moonbase Lego" lay-out they had in Selfridges about 20 years ago? Was very cool.
