there is a fluorescent green stain where an air con pipe is jointed to the pump, where it used to have a leak. I want to clean it off so that I can easily see if it leaks again. What will do it? i keep my engine bay very clean.

try brake / clutch cleaner or other solvent based cleaner
Thats the dye that fluoresces when leaks are checked using ultra violet light. Can you get in there with a soft brass bristle brush?

Hi, im an aircon service engineer for cars, and as said that is the dye used in the oil for detecting leaks.

I dont know if you will, because its illegal for people to do DIY aircon repairs.
So there probably is not much demand outside of refrigeration engineering trade for something like that.
Worth asking still, none the less.
