Hi i have started to make reproduction grey slates but they are too soft does anyone know the correct mixture the sort of gravel, sand, how much cement ect should i try to use grano with the mix? any help would be great

Please stop, some manufacturers spend millions of pounds and many years trying to perfect this type of thing, and the 'slates' still fail.
Whilst they may not have the exact appearance or a similar longetivity as natural slates they are a hellova lot cheaper and do do a pretty good job. There's some dodgy fake slates out there for sure but there's not an inherant problem with them. Frankly most people couldn't tell the difference and won't live in their properties long enough to reap any lifespan benefits. Long live the fakes!
