Hi,

could someone explain to me the meaning of a grit finish on solid wood worktops?

im in the process of looking for one to buy for a new kitchen, however i have no idea whether for example a 120 grit finish is better than a 240 one?

thanks,
jujhimup

The number refers to the grade of abrasive sheet used for the final finishing: the higher the number, the smaller the size of abrasive particle (and the finer the finish).

120 sounds fine for a wooden worktop.
