I am tiling a hearth with lovely glazed hearth tiles and will be installing a cast iron solid fuel burning fireplace.

I have been advised to use "normal fondue cement" to grout.

Can someone tell me what this is or where I can buy it or how I can make it.

Many thanks

To me this is a different type of grouting. Fondu is used to set the hold down bolt into the foundations for steel structures and then fill under the stanchion bases when they have been shimmed & leveled.

You would be far better going to your local tile shop and seeking their advice as to the best grout as this will depend on the gap width & depth, colour, tile type etc. I assume your glazed tiles are suitable for any heat.
