How often does grout sealer have to be applied for white grout to stay white ??

How effective is it ?? As in does the grout look exactly like it did the first day it was put in 6 months after even with mopping the tiles each night ???

Or am I in a no win situation and just use dark coloured grout to hide the discolouration ???

The quality of the grout has a lot to do with it; cheapo DIY stuff will never look good for long. There are grout sealers & reviver products available which can work to a greater or lesser extent but, IMO, you’re really in a no win situation with white grout on floors! Many initially like the idea of white grout against dark or black floor tiles but it’s definitely a bad choice as it will start to look grubby in a very short space of time; I always use grey or a darker contrasting colour for floors.
