I just had a meeting with a roofer who suggested using GRP on the dormer cheeks and on the fronts, rather than leading which would be very expensive. To install the GRP they would rip out the underlay already applied on the dormer cheeks and would apply the Flexitek roof resin straight on the plywood, and then a "fleece" over it while it is still wet, and afterwards one more coat of resin.

Does anyone have experience with covering the dormers with GRP (Flexitek) and the pros and cons?

No experience on your particular application, plywood isn't an ideal substrate for laminating with GRP (the resin doesn't soak in very well). It'll also be difficult getting the correct buildup of resin, mat and topcoat on vertical surfaces (the resin is quite runny until it goes off- the going-off phase is typically a minute or 2 from fully workable to solid lump (about 30 mins after mixing)).

Probably because the roofer can't do leadwork. There are some specialists in Sussex. The front of the dormer is a tray under the window then a front apron. Lead will last fibreglass won't
